FIN-FYFA Project Officially Launched in Milan

Kick-off Meeting Held on 15–16 January 2025
Milan, Italy – January 2025
The FIN-FYFA – Financial Foundations for Young Female Athletes: Building Smart Futures
project officially kicked off with a two-day transnational meeting held in Milan on 15–16
January 2025, at the Casa delle Associazioni.
The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Sport programme of the European Union and
coordinated by ALFAFIN (Italy), in partnership with Sport Embassy (Portugal) and ZFK
Borec (North Macedonia).

A European initiative for the future of young female athletes
FIN-FYFA aims to empower young female athletes aged 16–22 by strengthening their
financial awareness and life-planning skills, supporting them in building a more sustainable
future both within and beyond their sporting careers.
Through a combination of educational workshops, mentorship activities, practical simulations
and digital tools, the project addresses a critical gap in the sport ecosystem: the lack of
accessible and tailored financial education for young women in sport.

Highlights of the Kick-off Meeting
The Kick-off Meeting marked the official start of the project implementation and provided an
opportunity for partners to align on vision, roles and next steps.
During the first day, partners introduced their organisations and presented the overall project
framework, including its objectives, methodology, administrative structure and financial
aspects. A dedicated working session focused on the development of the educational
programme on financial literacy, led by Sport Embassy, while ZFK Borec presented the
project’s dissemination and communication strategy, with a strong focus on digital outreach
and social media.

The second day was dedicated to operational planning and tools. Partners explored the
financial tools and methodologies that will be used during the project, defined the roadmap
for the upcoming months, and engaged in an interactive “Cashflow” simulation session,
designed to translate financial concepts into practical learning experiences.
Looking ahead
Following the Kick-off Meeting, the consortium will focus on:

  • engaging sport clubs, schools and organisations across partner countries;
  • recruiting young female athletes to take part in the project activities;
  • developing and piloting the educational content and mentorship programme.
    FIN-FYFA will be implemented throughout 2025, with activities taking place both online and
    in person in Italy, Portugal and North Macedonia.
